SMART doesn't seem to have a free legal alternative, unless I'm mistake...

Hi,

If your laptop as has an infrared port, this might also cause the unpredictable effect. If yes, you can try to temporarily disable the the IR port.

Unlikely, as the remote only transmits infrared light when someone is using it.
The easiest way to check whether ir light is the problem is to check the SmoothBoard
calibration assistant as mentioned.

Is there anyone using the Wiimote and DesktopVR under Windows 7 (x64) ?

DesktopVR crashes and I'm also not able to connect my Wiimote using WiimoteConnect 0.6. Windows does recognize the Wiimote when I connect, but the Wiimote is not showing any LED's ...

so I checked my setup and, the x,y,z coordinates coming from the remote are almost perfectly accurate.
